New Station 1 Sign
On Tuesday, November 13, Monroe Fire Department took delivery and installation of their new Station sign.  Thanks for Asst. Chief Steve Solek for his work in acquiring the sign.
Hurst Delivery
On Tuesday, November 6, 2007 Monroe Fire Department took delivery of brand new Hurst Extrication Equipment made possible by FEMA and their Assistance to Firefighter's Grant Program.  This program provides 95% of the funding for capital purchases such as this.  This equipment will replace equipment that is over 25 years old and will much benefit the citizens and firefighters of Monroe. The department would once again like to thank FEMA.

     
Fire Prevention
October 2007
During October Monroe Fire made presentations to local schools and daycare centers regarding fire prevention.  This public service is extremely important to the department, reaching out to our youngest residents and educating them about fire safety.
2007 Open House
Sunday, October 14, 2007
On Sunday, October 14, Monroe Fire held their annual Open House.  Officers, Firefighters, Fire Police, Ladies Auxiliary Members, and General Members were on hand to show the public our equipment, station, and to teach fire prevention.  The day included a live fire demonstration and the opportunity for residents to extinguish small fires with extinguishers.

Monroe takes Best Ladies Auxiliary and Best Company in Shirts

Big Y Foods and Monroe Fire Team Up For a Food Drive
On Saturday, July 14, and Sunday, July 15, Monroe Fire and Big Y Foods teamed up and sponsored a food drive at Big Y's Monroe location to benefit the Monroe Food Pantry.  In all over 12 carriages of food was collected for the pantry.
2007 Carnival

From Wednesday, July 11 through Saturday, July 14 Monroe Fire hosted their annual carnival.  Despite, a rainout on Wednesday, the remaining days went off without a hitch.  Thanks to Stewart Amusement for all their help!
