Christmas Party 2006
On the evening of Saturday, December 9, Monroe Fire Department held its annual Christmas Party.  About 100 people were in attendance for a night of food, dancing, and even some karoke.  Bill Davin and Tim Marsden received their past chiefs badges along with awards of appreciation for their time in the chief positions.  Chief Lattanzi thanks the special guests who attended and it was an honor to host them  Firefighter Bobby Klein arrived with his family for the festivities and is doing well with his recovery.  Bobby and his family had a great time and the department was very happy to have them all there.

Christmas 2006

Pictured below Santa is arriving for the annual Children's Christmas Party and also Quint 200's crew decorating the station.

Winter Repairs

Today, members met up at Station one to fix a small retaining wall on the edge of the parking lot.  Members dug out around the wall and replaced the wall to its original position adding in extra supports.  Thanks to all members who assisted with this operation.

Halloween Patrol 2006

On Tuesday, October 31, 2006 Monroe Fire decided to bring the engine and the chief's car out for some trick or treater's.  The crew stationed themselves in the Lazy Brook neighborhood for approximately three hours while giving out goodies to the passing ghosts, witches, and goblins.  We hope to make this an annual tradition.

Open House 2006

On Sunday, October 15, 2006 Monroe Fire held its annual open house from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm.  The turnout was great and guests were treated with a car fire demonstration, opportunities to use fire extinguishers on real fires, and many other great presentations.  Remember: Change your Clock, Change your Batteries

Monroe Fire Takes 5 Trophies in New Canaan

On Sunday, July 30, Monroe Fire participated in New Canaan Fire Department's 125th Anniversary Parade.  Monroe ended the day with 5 Trophies: Best Color Guard, Best Ladies Auxiliary, Best Senior Music Unit, Best Ladder, and 2nd Best Overall! Congratulations to all who participated!

The Monroe Fire Department carnival was held July 12-15.  Thanks to the everyone who came to make our event successful!!

Big Y Foods & MFD Team Up for a Food Drive

On Saturday, July 15, and Sunday July 16, 2006 Monroe Fire staged members and apparatus at Big Y Foods on Route 111 to help the local food pantry stock up for summer.  Members volunteered for 8 hours to collect food for the pantry.  The outcome was very successful
