Structure Fire
Tuesday, November 12, 2006
At 2148 hours Dispatch notified Monroe Fire as primary and Stepney Fire as the second due company to 23 Twinbrook Terrace for the report house on fire.  The assignment brought Engines 201, 204, 101, Quint 200, Truck 100, Rescue 120, and Chiefs 251, 253, and 151.  First arriving companies found a 1 story residential structure with fire on the sill iplate underneath the fire place.  Crews utilized a few water cans and saws to gain access to extinguish the fire.  The crews reported negative extension and mopped up.  Chief 251 (Lattanzi) had command.

Apartment Fire
Thursday, November 16, 2006

At 1144 hours Monroe Fire was alerted on automatic aid to 27 Maple Dr in the Stepney District for a report structure on fire.  Engine 101 arrived first reporting fire from from the eaves of a three story apartment type structure.  Engine 201 and 204 from Monroe responded.  Crew from E-201 assisted with roof ventilation and E-204 established a water supply.
Truck 100, Rescues 120 & 320, and Long Hill Engine 205 were also on scene.

Odor Investigation
Monday, November 13, 2006

At 1539 hours Monroe Fire was dispatched with others to 450 Monroe Tpk for the odor of something burning on the #2 floor.  Crews arrived and began an investigation that resulted in Truck 100 raising the bucket to the roof.  Crews investigated and found an issue with a roof top heating unit.  That unit was shut down and all units returned. This was the 4th run of the day.

Dryer Fire
Saturday, November 10, 2006

At 1454 hours Monroe Fire was dispatched with Stepney for the dryer fire at 22 Hickory Rd.  First arriving units reported a 2.5 story wood frame with smoke from the rear.  The fire was quickly knocked down and Monroe units cleared.  Stepney units remained on scene for overhaul.

Brush Fires
Monday, November 6, 2006

At 1328 hours Monroe Fire was requested to respond to Meadow Road for the brush fire.  Quint 200 arrived first and confirmed the report.  Crews from 200 and 101 extinguished the fire with an 1-3/4" line.
Later that day at 1719 hours units were advised of another brush fire at Fan Hill & Turkey Roost Rd.  Quint 200 arrived first to find a 20 by 20 pile of rubbish on fire.  The engine arrived shortly thereafter.  Crews utilized an 1-3/4" line off the Quint to extinguish the fire.  Units were on scene for approximately one hour.

Smoke Condition
Sunday, November 5, 2006

 At 0500 hours Monroe Fire was alerted to Jockey Hollow School for the fire alarm.  First arriving units reported smoke coming from the roof of the three story masonry structure.  Crews made entry and were met with a slight smoke condition on the main floor.  Investigation brought interior crews to the boiler room where they were met with a moderate smoke condition.  Units discovered a malfunctioning boiler unit.  The unit was shut down and the building was ventilated.  Crews metered the structure and found no readings of CO.  All units cleared within an hour.  This was the first of 3 for the day.

Bathroom Fire
Friday, November 3, 2006

At 1024 hours Monroe Fire was alerted to 1014 Monroe Tpk, Masuk High School, for the reported fire in a bathroom.  Updates received from the school indicated a trash can fire.  First arriving Engine 201 reported the fire to be out, with a moderate smoke condition in the building.  Units ventilated for approximately 20 minutes.  Engines 201, 101, and 104 were on scene.  Chief 251 (Lattanzi) had Masuk Command.  FM-1 (Davin) investigated the fire.

Possible Structure Fire turns into a False Alarm

At 1726 hours Monroe fire was alerted to Hidden Knolls Circle Building #5 for a reported structure fire.  This is an elderly housing complex with apartment style living.  Stepney and Stevenson were added as automatic mutual aid to the assignment.  Upon arrival units found a false alarm due to food on the stove.

MVA Rollover

At 1204 hours Monroe fire was alerted automatic aid to the Stepney district for a reported motor vehicle accident rollover with entrapment on Garder Road near the landfill.  E-201 and R-120 arrived to find a vehicle on its roof.  Members assisted with patient removal and care.

Truck Fire
Tuesday, October 24, 2006

At 0752 hours Monroe Fire along with Stepney and Stevenson were dispatched to the reported truck on fire at Rt. 111 @ Spring Hill road.  Asst. Chief Solek arrived first reporting a working fire in a utility vehicle.  Chief Lattanzi arrived shortly thereafter and confirmed the initial report.  Engine 101 arrived and took the first due position, with Engine 201 arriving just behind.  The Marshal  stretched a line off 101 for extinguishment.  Crews then overhauled the truck and awaited the wrecker service.
Fire police had 2 southbound lanes closed while operation in progress. 
Chief Lattanzi (251) had Route 111 Command.


Grill Explosion
Sunday, September 3, 2006

Shortly after 16:30 hours Monroe Fire was requested to respond with an engine to 67 Belle Vale Street in the Stepney District for a reported grill explosion with a large fire next to a structure.  Engine 201 went enroute and was instructed to establish a water supply for Engine 101 whom was in the process of extinguishing the blaze and mitigating the propane hazard.
